Contributing to Lansing's Future
It's an exciting time to be a part of ITEC.
In 2011, we will once again expand the number of locations we serve and the number of students we reach. We're excited about new projects that will offer high-tech training to Michigan residents seeking to embrace the information economy. We look forward to meeting new students and welcoming back the students we have come to know over the past few years.
Your tax deductable contribution allows us to offer the programs that have touched the lives of students in schools and community destinations throughout Lansing.
For many families, the cost of high-quality technology programs is out of reach. Our after-school programs in the Lansing School District are offered free of charge and open to all students. We provide scholarships to our summer camps for low-income students.
When you walk into an ITEC class, you'll see children engaged in exciting tech programs like Lego Robotics, Science and Art of Game Design, Tech Independence, or Scratch programming. It can get noisy. You might hear students singing in Digital Media Arts, laughing as they try to"program" their Lego Robotics instructors, or howling in mock frustration when the characters in the video games they are programming don't behave. You'll see the creativity, enthusiasm, and talent it takes to reason through problems that don't have any right or wrong answers.
We love what we do, and we believe in this community. We hope you will engage with our mission to enable Lansing area residents to acquire flexible, transferable technological skills that will allow them to participate in a fast-paced global economy.
