Her program, led by ITEC instructors, teaches middle school students in the Lansing area how to expand their abilities using computers. Bemenet talked to ITEC about the Video Game Design course and what she wants to do with her new computer skills.

What is your favorite subject in school?

We get to do experiments which is my favorite way to learn.

Why did you join Video Game Design?

I saw handouts about science, which is my favorite and I wanted to see how to make my own games.

What has been your favorite part of Video Game Design so far?

Getting to use the computers is fun. I get to work on my own computer in class

If you could tell your friends one thing about Video Game Design, what would it be?

I would tell them that it isn’t always easy and you have to work to make a good game, but the work pays off when you get to see what you made.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I want to be a fourth-grade teacher because I can teach more than one subject and because my fourth-grade class is quiet and I want to teach quiet students.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

I want to be able to fill things up. If I have an empty bank account, I could fill it up.
