DescriptionThis ten-week course will enable students to design their own media – a composition of their own ideas, interests, and passions. During the 10-week program, students will make three different digital media projects. They will use computer technology, video technology, and music to learn about synthesis, arrangement, composing, and other literacy skills. They will also be introduced to the professions which use these skills and be invited to imagine themselves in these roles, both as part of the project and in their future education and careers. For this session of Digital Media Arts, researchers from MSU will be conducting research. The purpose of the research is to explore students’ development in literacy skills and identity (do they see themselves as artists?) through making digital media. There is an informed consent form included in these materials that explains the research in more detail. If you are interested in allowing your child to participate in the research, please fill out that form and return it. Students do not need to participate in the research in order to participate in the class. Venue
