ITEC Upgrades Instructors and Assistant Instructors (PDF)

Are you a Facebook fanatic, a legend of LinkedIn, or wizard with Word? Would you like to give back to the community and help build computer skills? Then we have an opportunity for you!
The Information Technology Empowerment Center (ITEC) is seeking volunteer instructors for our “ITEC Upgrades” classes, held evenings and weekends on Lansing’s east side and south side. These classes provide novice computer users a two-hour, basic introduction to a variety of topics, including online photo sharing, the Internet and making the most of Gmail, LinkedIn and Facebook. Please visit our ITEC upgrades page to learn more about the classes.
We have detailed, step-by-step instructor notes that volunteers can use to teach the classes, if they are ready to step right into the classroom. Assistant instructors who would help in the classroom are also welcome. Volunteers will go through a brief orientation.
To use your special talents to help Lansing residents build their own 21st century skills, please fill out the Volunteer for ITEC form, and an ITEC staff member will contact you to set up an orientation.
